The Nursery
Tamar are based on the Norfolk, Cambridgeshire border and located in the heart of the rich arable Fenland area.
The nursery production site is twenty-six acres, of which four acres are covered growing areas.
The nursery is equipped with the latest technology for irrigation, drainage, Integrated Pest Management, chemical application and growing and despatch of hardy nursery stock.
The majority of the plants grown at Tamar are also propagated, on site.
This gives us total control of the quality of our shrubs from day one.
Shrubs
Over 500 varieties of shrubs are currently in production, all are specially selected for their horticultural merits, hardiness and suitability for modern Landscape and Garden planting. Around 1 million shrubs are grown annually at Tamar Nurseries.
Trees
Our strong Northern European links allow us to offer only the highest quality trees. Partnerships forged over many years mean that our European partners only supply us with trees that match Tamar’s exacting standards.
All trees and shrubs are supplied in accordance with the National Plant Specification.
Transplants and Hedging
We are extremely proud to have an exclusive partnership with one of Northern Europe’s most reputable forestry nurseries. Our long established relationship allows Tamar’s customers to benefit from quality plants that are almost unrivalled on quality.
